Turkey, ME & Africa M&A volume and value down yoy in Q1; TMT value up

Although M&A across EMEA at large had a slower start to the year compared with both 2023 and 2022, deal volume – while down – was in line with those at the beginning of 2021 and aggregate deal value in the region increased by 29% yoy in Q1. Dealmaking in Turkey, the Middle East & Africa did not fare as well: deal volume and value both declined 30% and 35% yoy in Q1, respectively. However, both EMU and consumer saw volume rise, while TMT deals surged by 81% in terms of value.
